Bike Fit
Bike fit is the process of adjusting a bicycle to suit an individual’s body dimensions and riding style, ensuring comfort, efficiency, and injury prevention.
Dan Boyd has worked amongst world class cyclists and across a wide range of other professional sports that have underpinned an assessment and approach to bike fit that is unrivalled.
A Masters level physiotherapist with ISCO bike fit level 1 & 2, as well as an accomplished Gebiomized motion analysis expert. Dan is IBFI certified since 2015.
We use the following steps you ensure you are injury free, ride faster and enjoy your cycling!
Movement Screening
This is a verbal and physical assessment of your cycling and key goals to achieve from the bike fit. We use goniometry to measure joint ranges and hand held dynamometry to objectively assess your strength right to left. A movement screening protocol is followed to give us an understanding of achievable and comfortable positions.
Data Analysis
The data is layered with your movement screening and physical data points to suggest progressions of your fit for better aerodynamics, pedal mechanics, diaphragmatic positioning and body control.
Brand-first approach
We then get you on the bike. We have a Wahoo Kickr Jig for fitting for a new bike, and a trainer to allow any road bike to be assessed with our Gebiomized motion analysis software. 40,320 variations of your bike set up will be analysed. Combining these data points with professional experience and a 20 year understating of the Human body and biomechanics allows for the best fit possible.
Bike Fit Report
Once your fit is completed in clinic we don’t stop there, a full report of your measurements and angulations is collated and presented to you for future reference. Follow up appointments are available for finer modifications if needed.
